Data Center Cable Technician in Jeffersonville, IN

We are thrilled to be looking for Cable Technician - Installers to join our team in several data centers in River Ridge, IN (near Jeffersonville, IN). This role involves installing cabinets, cable tray, ladder rack, fiber runner, containment, and trunks. We are looking with candidates with experience and perhaps some leadership experience or someone who recently completed an electrical trade school/vocational.

Things about this role:

- 6 month potential interview to hire job opportunity

- Pay Rate $18/hr-$20/hr (Rate is commensurate due to tenure and/or experience)

- Must be comfortable and agree to complete a background check and drug testing

- Must be comfortable working on an ongoing construction site sometimes exposed to the outside weather and will be performing manual labor

- Must have own transportation to commute to River Ridge, IN (near Jeffersonville, IN)

Top Skills:

- Mechanical, Data Center, or Cabling experience (coax, fiber, cat5, cat6, punch downs, etc.) - no license required

- Strong work ethic, as this is physical work involving tasks such as climbing ladders, assembling server cabinets, and cabling

- Data Center or Construction site experience

- Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools

- Familiarity with wiring schemes and wiring testing

- Ability to pull all types of low voltage cable

- Capability in performing field terminations and labeling

Job Description: As a Cable Technician - Installer, you will be responsible for the installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment. You will deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, provide structured feedback on project progress, exhibit quality workmanship, and maintain Data Center cleanliness. You will follow all production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices, and collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles. Additionally, you will read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work, and have a broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications: We seek dedicated individuals. We are willing to consider candidates with no cabling experience who are eager to learn and get into the trade, as we provide training and teaching. If you do not have cabling experience, a nice to have is be familiar with data center procedures (e.g., worked in a data center - physical security, decommissioning, logistics, etc.). Ideally, you would have some cabling experience. We need people who understand that this is tough work and are eager and interested in learning the trade.
